Thank you!

Thank you!

We really have the best residents! This year has been tough but we’ve made it through together and we want to say a big Royse + Brinkmeyer thank you to our wonderful community. Here are just a few examples of why we think our residents are the best:

In March, we asked residents to donate masks in exchange for rent credits. The response was overwhelming! We were able to donate over 1000 masks to C-U at Home, Champaign-Urbana Public Health District, Christie Clinic, and Carle Foundation Hospital. That’s pretty awesome.

And, as though that wouldn’t be enough, this month we asked for donations for our annual Toys for Tots drive. Once again, residents delivered! This photo is JUST the main leasing office; there are even more at our satellite offices! One lucky resident, Lauren from State St., won one month's free rent in our raffle!

When we asked residents to donate holiday cards for senior citizens living in care facilities we received over 250 cards! We also gave away some prizes for those:

  • Most cards donated: Gary from Crowwood Pointe! Gary donated 65 cards and won a $50 Walmart gift card!
  • Most Creative Card: Jade from Ginger Creek donated the most creative card and won a $25 Meijer gift card!
  • Raffle: Jennifer from Misty Cove won our early donation raffle and won a $15 Schnucks gift card.

We also offered rent credits this month to help alleviate some of the strain of the pandemic but gave residents the choice to, instead, donate their credit to C-U at Home and have Royse + Brinkmeyer match it. You raised $15,500 to help support our communities’ homeless!

Plus, you showed us some love by voting us Illini Radio Group’s Best of Champaign Urbana’s Best Property Management Company AND the News Gazette’s People’s Choice Best Rental Company!

We are so proud of our community and grateful to have such wonderful and giving residents. So, THANK YOU for being a bright spot in a difficult year. We couldn’t ask for better.

Having a small space does not mean you have to feel cramped. Just follow these tips to make your space feel more open and spacious no matter how much square footage you have. TRASH IT OR CHERISH IT. First, take some time to declutter your apartment and organize what you already have. You cannot create more space in your apartment unless you make that space by getting rid of some items. That pile of books in your corner that you have not even flipped through, maybe it’s time to let them go. LET’S GET ORGANIZED. After you have downsized your belongings, it is time to get organized! If everything has a place to go then there will not be a giant monster of overflow invading your living space. If you are in a smaller space, you can utilize dividers in drawers, curio cabinets, or even boxes and bins. Vacuum storage bags are also a great trick for hidable storage – they take up less space, protect your items, and can be stored under your bed. Bookshelves can hold pretty much everything; wire racks in the kitchen can free up cabinet space from kitchen utensils; and utilizing your walls not only for shelves but also to display some of your favorite items as well are great ways to both personalize your space and keep it organized! Furniture pieces can serve way more than just one purpose! Try out a coffee table with plenty of drawers, an ottoman with a removable top, or even a bedframe with hidden storage. Get as creative with your organization as you would with decorating your space! USE AN ILLUSION You can trick the eye into thinking you have a bigger space using bright colors and wall art. Light colors on the walls reflect light and create an illusion of a bigger space. Luckily, Royse + Brinkmeyer always sticks to a neutral palette, a nice cream color. However, that does not mean you have to have boring plain walls. Utilizing tapestries or artwork in uniform colors is a wonderful way to spice up your walls without making your space feel small. Another trick that can create depth, reflect light, and brighten up a room is utilizing mirrors on your walls. We hope these tips can help you make your space, no matter how small, feel a little bit more spacious and welcoming. Make sure to let your creativity flourish and have fun!
