Holiday Reminders!

Even though we are all celebrating a little differently this year, the holidays are always a busy time! We would hate for you to miss out on the opportunity to help make someone's holiday season a little brighter... including yours!

We have a few opportunities for our residents to spread the holiday spirit this month!

Rent Credit/Matched C-U at Home Donation

Deadline December 10th

Royse +Brinkmeyer would like to show support for our friends without an address this winter.

With the pandemic looming and unemployment increasing, we've decided to offer a $25 credit toward our residents' rent!

But we'd also like to give our residents the opportunity to support those less priveleged. So we are giving residents the option to donate their credit to support C-U at Home and their mission of serving the most vulnerable homeless in our community. For every credit donated to C-U at Home Royse and Brinkmeyer will match with another $25 donation! These funds will help support C-U at Home through their upcoming event, "One Winter Night".

Residents interested should
email Maureen Peck and let her know whether you would like to accept the credit or donate it to C-U at Home. We support our residents either way! Together we can make a difference!

Toys for Tots Toy Drive

Deadline December 11th

Each year the Toys for Tots program collects new and unwrapped toys and delivers them to underprivileged children in Champaign County.

If you would like to participate you just need to buy a NEW toy, and drop it off, unwrapped, at our main leasing office
(211 W. Springfield). From there, toys will be distributed through Lite Rock 97.5 to the Salvation Army.

For every new toy you bring in you can enter a name in our drawing for FREE RENT!

Happiness for the Holidays Card Campaign

In light of the pandemic people in nursing homes, retirement facilities, and long-term care may not get to see family members or friends this holiday season.

Join us in helping

Buy a holiday card (or make your own) or have the kids color a cute holiday picture (free printable coloring pages) and drop it off at our main leasing office by December 12 for a chance to win a gift card to a local business!

First Place Winner - $50 gift card for the resident who submits the most cards/coloring pages.

Having a small space does not mean you have to feel cramped. Just follow these tips to make your space feel more open and spacious no matter how much square footage you have. TRASH IT OR CHERISH IT. First, take some time to declutter your apartment and organize what you already have. You cannot create more space in your apartment unless you make that space by getting rid of some items. That pile of books in your corner that you have not even flipped through, maybe it’s time to let them go. LET’S GET ORGANIZED. After you have downsized your belongings, it is time to get organized! If everything has a place to go then there will not be a giant monster of overflow invading your living space. If you are in a smaller space, you can utilize dividers in drawers, curio cabinets, or even boxes and bins. Vacuum storage bags are also a great trick for hidable storage – they take up less space, protect your items, and can be stored under your bed. Bookshelves can hold pretty much everything; wire racks in the kitchen can free up cabinet space from kitchen utensils; and utilizing your walls not only for shelves but also to display some of your favorite items as well are great ways to both personalize your space and keep it organized! Furniture pieces can serve way more than just one purpose! Try out a coffee table with plenty of drawers, an ottoman with a removable top, or even a bedframe with hidden storage. Get as creative with your organization as you would with decorating your space! USE AN ILLUSION You can trick the eye into thinking you have a bigger space using bright colors and wall art. Light colors on the walls reflect light and create an illusion of a bigger space. Luckily, Royse + Brinkmeyer always sticks to a neutral palette, a nice cream color. However, that does not mean you have to have boring plain walls. Utilizing tapestries or artwork in uniform colors is a wonderful way to spice up your walls without making your space feel small. Another trick that can create depth, reflect light, and brighten up a room is utilizing mirrors on your walls. We hope these tips can help you make your space, no matter how small, feel a little bit more spacious and welcoming. Make sure to let your creativity flourish and have fun!
