We're so excited to welcome The Inman into the Royse + Brinkmeyer family

We are so excited to welcome The Inman to the Royse + Brinkmeyer family! The Inman boasts 60 studio, one, and two-bedroom units. We will open The Inman’s doors to all ages while continuing to care for its current residents.

This unique building will continue to offer a full-service lifestyle with concierge services like housekeeping, laundry, pet care, and more.

“We’re excited to see what the future holds for the historic Inman. With its rich history and prime location, we think it’s the perfect place to showcase the best things about our vibrant community” says R+B CEO Collin Carlier. “We look forward to seeing how Champaign-Urbana embraces this building and informs its future”.

Built in 1915, The Inman's storied history adds to the building's charm with visits from Eleanor Roosevelt, Al Capone, and Nat King Cole. Royse + Brinkmeyer plans to honor this history while developing the building.

Having a small space does not mean you have to feel cramped. Just follow these tips to make your space feel more open and spacious no matter how much square footage you have. TRASH IT OR CHERISH IT. First, take some time to declutter your apartment and organize what you already have. You cannot create more space in your apartment unless you make that space by getting rid of some items. That pile of books in your corner that you have not even flipped through, maybe it’s time to let them go. LET’S GET ORGANIZED. After you have downsized your belongings, it is time to get organized! If everything has a place to go then there will not be a giant monster of overflow invading your living space. If you are in a smaller space, you can utilize dividers in drawers, curio cabinets, or even boxes and bins. Vacuum storage bags are also a great trick for hidable storage – they take up less space, protect your items, and can be stored under your bed. Bookshelves can hold pretty much everything; wire racks in the kitchen can free up cabinet space from kitchen utensils; and utilizing your walls not only for shelves but also to display some of your favorite items as well are great ways to both personalize your space and keep it organized! Furniture pieces can serve way more than just one purpose! Try out a coffee table with plenty of drawers, an ottoman with a removable top, or even a bedframe with hidden storage. Get as creative with your organization as you would with decorating your space! USE AN ILLUSION You can trick the eye into thinking you have a bigger space using bright colors and wall art. Light colors on the walls reflect light and create an illusion of a bigger space. Luckily, Royse + Brinkmeyer always sticks to a neutral palette, a nice cream color. However, that does not mean you have to have boring plain walls. Utilizing tapestries or artwork in uniform colors is a wonderful way to spice up your walls without making your space feel small. Another trick that can create depth, reflect light, and brighten up a room is utilizing mirrors on your walls. We hope these tips can help you make your space, no matter how small, feel a little bit more spacious and welcoming. Make sure to let your creativity flourish and have fun!
